Effective Contaminant Filtration
The Classic 480i excels at removing a wide range of pollutants from the surrounding air supply, and it can effectively trap particles down to 0.1 microns in size.
Therefore, it reduces the pollution levels of many common contaminants, including:
- PM1, PM2.5 and PM10 particles
- Dust, pet dander, pollen and mould
- Odours, smoke and VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds)
- Bacteria and viruses
Advanced & Efficient Filter
To remove so many pollutants, the Classic 480i uses Blueair’s unique HEPASilent filter to great effect. As a result, it can cause a 99.97% reduction of particles such as dust, pollen, mould and spore while also reducing odours and VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) levels.
For best results, Blueair recommends replacing the HEPASilent filter every 6 months.
Adaptive Sensor Technology
When used in its AUTO mode, the Classic 480i can independently alter its fan speed based on the detected air quality. Therefore, during periods of low air quality, it can increase the speed setting to reduce pollutant levels swiftly.
Additionally, the unit converts the air quality information it gathers into direct feedback. An LED indicator then displays that information by changing its colour to either blue or amber depending on the surrounding air quality.
High Clean Air Delivery Rate
Rounding out the filtration package offered by the 480i is the ability to alter the fan speed. There are a total of four settings available, and the highest level, “3”, offers the best filtration performance.
When used on the “3” setting, the Classic 480i can produce CADR’s of:
- Pollen CADR: 510 m3/h
- Dust CADR: 510 m3/h
- Smoke CADR: 476 m3/h
Additionally, in rooms sized 40 m², it can complete five full air changes in an hour. Allowing for very fast purification in suitable environments.
Quiet & Efficient
Beyond its exceptional performance, the Classic 480i is quiet when active, and its HEPASilent filter produces 10% less noise than traditional HEPA filters.
While operating at its lowest fan speed, it only produces 32 dB of noise. That’s equivalent to the sound of whispering, making it suitable for use at night time.
Matching those quiet noise levels, the 480i is also very power efficient. When active, it only requires a maximum of 90 watts of power. As a result, it’s cheap to run, even for extended periods.
Certified Allergenic Relief
The Blueair Classic 480i is certified by multiple industry bodies, including AHAM (Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers, Quiet Mark and Energy Star.
Therefore, it is proven to alleviate symptoms caused by strong allergies to airborne particles such as dust or pollen.
App Compatibility
Using the Blueair app you can see the pollutant levels in the air as well as control a range of settings such as choosing between the 4 fan speeds, turn on the auto operation mode, and using the app you can even see the health of the filter so you know exactly when to change.
